This home water filter system by Aqua Filter Plus, which is a 10″ Big Blue filter housing unit, comes accompanied by a variety of different features. It has a pressure relief button that makes it easy to replace the filter cartridge; it supports a heavy flow rate; has a reinforced polypropylene sump for chemical resistance and strength which meets NSF and ANSI standards; ensures a watertight seal with it’s well constructed high-flow polypropylene black cap, and comes with a mounting kit and tool to install and replace filters.

Note that this whole house filter doesn’t come with a filter. You will have to purchase one separately. The upside to this is that you get to chose one that works for your specific needs rather than having one included that may be useless to you, leaving you to purchase a separate one anyway.

Since the unit doesn’t come with a filter, we can’t really speak on the functionality of how it actually performs in terms of filtering water.  However, in terms of the quality of the Aqua Filter Plus itself, along with the low price, we rank it as one of the best whole-house water filtration systems available.

This filter system is made with extremely durable materials that will stand the test of time. It can operate up to 90 psi and 100 degrees Fahrenheit / 37.8 Celsius. It’s ideal for various high-flow applications and for the price, perfect for residential drinking water filtration.

We actually like the fact that a filter isn’t included because it allows options right without wasting money right off the bat. And since the housing is a standard size (10” x 4.5”), you’re not forced to buy Aqua Filter Plus brand filters. There are literally hundreds of options to suit your specific filtration needs and to fit your budget. You can even buy filters in bulk which will save some serious money in the long run plus you’ll always have a fresh replacement on hand as soon as it’s time for a new filter.

Here’s a tip: if you need a 2 or 3-stage system and don’t want to fork out the funds for a unit like the APEX MR-3030, you can buy 2 or 3 (or more!) Aqua Filter Plus’, a different grade filter cartridge for each (custom to suit your personal filtration needs, of course) and you’ve got yourself a multi-stage whole house water filter system for a fraction of the price!
